In recent years, the question of Nationalism in India has been undergoing tremendous changes since Hindutva has become mainstream politics. Since then, there has been a continuous onslaught on secular Nationalism in India. Moreover, there are clear signals to change the secular nature of the Constitution on the basis that it is 'pseudo-secular'. Religious minorities are depicted as if they are alien to Indian culture, and so they are supposed to adhere to the 'Hindu' monocultures if they want to prove their loyalty to the land.
